Most people think AI video is all about generation. The pipeline builds the MP4, and then it's "I'll publish it myself." That's a mistake that costs you 30–50% of your organic traffic.

Distribution is a separate stage with its own AI logic. In Goutub, that's handled by the SEO-Publisher agent. Here's what it does and how it affects viewer retention in the first 24 hours.

What the Publisher Agent Does

After rendering, the pipeline passes metadata (topic, chapters, length, tone) to the Publisher. The agent then:

Workflow

Rendering→Publisher.metadata→Top-N analysis→5 titles + 3 descriptions→A/B (if data available)→Final

1. Top-N Analysis

The agent pulls the top 10 videos on the same topic (via YouTube Data API) and extracts their title, length, description, tags, view count, and likes/views ratio. It then identifies what winners have in common and what losers lack.

2. Generating 5 Variants

The LLM generates 5 different titles using different hook strategies: number, question, contradiction, promise, curiosity gap. For each — a predicted CTR based on the channel's historical data.

3. A/B Testing

If the channel has 1,000+ subscribers, Publisher suggests A/B testing via YouTube Studio Experiments. Otherwise, it picks the best option by predicted CTR.

Description Generation

A good description isn't "what the video is about" — it's about 2 minutes of watch time. The viewer reads the first 2 lines and decides whether to watch. That's why Publisher builds descriptions in 4 blocks:

  1. Hook (50 words) — what the viewer will learn, written in first person.
  2. Chapters — auto-generated from the script structure.
  3. Resources — links and relevant playlists on the channel.
  4. CTA + hashtags — subscribe prompt, next video in the series, 3–5 hashtags.

What This Means for Creators

Without Publisher: you spend 15–30 minutes per video in YouTube Studio (title, description, tags, schedule, thumbnail prompt for your designer). With Publisher — one POST /publish and everything is ready for review.

For a channel publishing 3 videos a week, that saves ~2–3 hours per week. For a network of 5 channels — an entire workday.
